Active Alignment
Aligning fiber optic devices in high-volume production environments with high cleanliness requirements calls for a combination of reliable, scalable hardware and smart technology. PI offers advanced motion solutions for fast, automated 24/7 operation based on various motor, guiding, and sensor technologies. Complemented by unique proprietary alignment algorithms for parallel optimization of any figure of merit (FoM), the solutions can increase throughput by more than one hundred times.
Magnetic Levitation
Using the properties of magnetic levitation technology in the development of positioning solutions allows high-precision, fast and wear-free motion. Active control and definition of guiding characteristics in up to six degrees of freedom can enable performing additional correction tasks such as focusing or adjusting tip/tilt during operation. This enables, for example, the imaging quality for inspection tasks in demanding semiconductor manufacturing or microscopy to be raised to a new level of precision.
